Evelynd's First Babysitter

18 days to Christmas!

(Besides the hour Dassow Daddy and I went out on our anniversary when Evie was six days old and stayed with Nana Evans.) Today was Evie's first babysitter.

I had a rehearsal with Willamette's women's choir and needed someone to watch Ev for about two hours.  Leta Edwards was nice enough to volunteer.  Luckily for her, I got Evelynd to go down for her nap right before I had to go and then I finished my rehearsal early, so Evelynd slept the entire time.  Good gig for Leta.

The rest of my day was frustrating.  Four of my lessons no-showed or cancelled at the last minute.  Thus, I spent most of my day waiting.  Thankfully, Jana Shike had a great lesson and had learned more than she had been assigned.  Also, my harp ensemble had wanted me to setup some performances.  Before I did that, I asked for all the dates that were good and had the harpists reserve them on their calendars.  Now, with a performance scheduled for Saturday, people are dropping like flies.  Am I supposed to cover it all myself?  Maybe.  I hope that more people end up showing up, though.

Side note: Camera's back tomorrow.

P.S. A very happy birthday to Evie's Grandpa!

I Have Good Cousins

Only 19 more days to Christmas!

And I'm home tonight to write this because Maddy and Alfonso saved me.  I was planning on filling my car with gas on the way home, but parked in the driveway, which is downhill.  Thus, my car wouldn't start.  Luckily, they had gas on hand and got me started and on my way home.  Thanks guys!

Also, Evie actually ate three meals today.  First time ever.

Brrrr

Today was cold and the frost stayed on the ground all day.  Salem rarely gets much below 40 degrees, but today was hovering around freezing all day.  I don't have clothes for this so Evie and I stayed in the house.  Still no camera, so I'll post the video of Ev and Talia Tuggy playing at the Christmas Recital.

Speaking of Christmas, only 20 more days!

P.S. A very happy birthday to GG'pa and Evie's Great Uncle Jon!

Concertizing

I played a Christmas Concert tonight at Silverton United Methodist Church.  It was FREEZING.  It's about 33 degrees outside and the church's furnace was broken.  It was pretty hard to get my fingers to move, but I think it went pretty well anyway.  Dassow Daddy, Evie, my student Mary, and the Jipping girls were there to support me, but no camera means no pictures again.  Bummer.  Here are some more from yesterday, though.
After my students' recital
Celebrating at Koniterei (Evie got to sample cheesecake and carrot cake).

Uncle Michael and Grandpa flew home today.  We miss them already, but glad they were able to visit.

More to Come

but this is all I have time for right now.

22 days to Christmas!

We had a busy day of rehearsals, recitals, and visiting family and friends.  Unfortunately, I didn't get my camera back (the Tuggys forgot to bring it), but Uncle Michael took a few pictures.  I'll post one today and get a better post up tomorrow.

Family Visits

23 days to Christmas!

Grandpa and Uncle Michael are here right now watching the Oregon game with Dassow Daddy.  Evie let Uncle Michael hold her and play with her.  Evie did not let Grandpa do the same.  Maybe by tomorrow she'll warm up to Grandpa and we'll have pictures to post (I get my camera back then).

Countdown to Christmas

24 more days!

(I left my camera at a student's house so we don't have the pictures to post.  Sorry.)
