I met the Neahring family about a decade ago. They have two daughters, Aja and Lila, who both took harp from me. Aja is now in college and Lila just graduated from high school. Lila will be attending Stanford and not majoring in harp -- bummer. One of the best experiences in teaching Lila was in 2008 when she entered the Lily Laskine Harp Competition and Peter and I got to accompany her to Paris. Tonight we went to her senior recital.

There was a photo collage of Lila in the Neahring's living room. |

The first video shows part of Lila playing the Rachmaninoff and the second one is the Glinka. Sorry about only picking Russian composers, but they're both great pieces.
Evelynd was great, by the way. She slept through most of it (no, that's not her you hear in the video, but a two-year-old boy) in her Infantino.
Thanks Bethany! Lila was so lucky to have you as a teacher. She is still trying to figure out if she can take her harp to school, so she hasn't given up the idea of playing in college even if she isn't majoring in it.
