We're done grading! Maybe those Thank You notes can finally get written. Maybe my floors can be swept. Maybe we can try some new Dassow Dinners. Maybe my Christmas CD arrangements can be completed. Maybe.
So, Uncle Jay left today. We hope he's having fun in Seattle and appreciated his visit. Here are pictures from our trip out to the coast yesterday.
The weather report said 54 and rainy. I bundled up like it was winter and then we found this and started taking off the layers. |
Evelynd needed to eat, so Peter and Jay went for a romantic walk on the beach together. Sweet. |
Won't it be fun when this is Daddy Jay with Jay, Jr.? |
On the way home, we stopped at the famous Otis Cafe to get some pumpkin bread to take home and then at the Drift Creek covered bridge, Oregon's oldest covered bridge. |
The sign says: "Faith Can Build a Bridge." There was a story the owners of the bridge had written and left for visitors about how they saved the bridge and that it had saved their faith and family. We read it on the way home, which was probably a nice break from our usual snarky comments and Prius/Slugbug/Subaru/PT Cruiser game.
So, where's the baby? Here you go:
Evelynd was all bundled up in Dassow Mommy's sweater from when she was a baby. She looked like Cindy Loo Who.
When we got home, we had pizza and watched the All-Star game. Well, kind of. I graded. And Jay? He was on the phone. |
P.S. I didn't post on the actual birthdays, but a very happy belated birthday to Evelynd's Aunt Judy and Cousin Drew!
Beautiful pictures!
