More About Evelynd's Name

I visited with Gail and her daughter Lila today, but didn't get any pictures because Evelynd was so tired (read: fussy).  So I am posting more about Evelynd's name instead.

Evelyn and Eveland are two different spellings of an English surname that dates from the Norman invasion (1066) and the families were centered around Surrey.  The coat of arms is similar to the Evans family coat (both are blue and gold with lions.  Side note: my middle school was the Leslie Lions and our colors were blue and gold).  Because there are so many spelling deviations I wonder if people had Evelynd as their last name.  Pure speculation, but an easy combination of two last names that are still in existence.

As for Jung, it is a pretty common Korean surname.  4.4% of South Korea's population currently has that name.  Jung means "nation, country, government."

Finally, all the information you could want about Dassow I found on Dan Dassow's blog.  He's probably related somehow, but I don't know how.  Here's the link: http://dandassow.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2006-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-08%3A00&updated-max=2007-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-08%3A00&max-results=1

P.S. Red Sox won yesterday 1-0 in the 16th inning.  They won today, too.
