Blog Vacation

Sorry, loyal readers.  I haven't posted in a week because we were having computer problems, Evelynd was sick (and so was Dassow Daddy), I had final exams to grade and was extremely sleep-deprived, and I had a bunch of random things to do.

 Evelynd loves the wind (and sticking her head out the car window like a dog).  On Thursday, it was windy, so she crawled over to the door and enjoyed letting it blow on her face.

 We celebrated Cinco de Mayo (by accident; we wanted Mexican for lunch and once we were there, were reminded of the holiday by the colorful chips) on Saturday.

Evelynd is a YouTube addict.  I made the mistake of letting her watch "Skinamarink" on YouTube since she was so sick.  We also found "The Duck Song" and a hippo singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and now every time she sees the computer, she wants to watch the videos.  I have to hide the laptop.  This video is of Evelynd watching a video of a kitten.

• She has started using forks and spoons.  She's not very good at them yet, but she's trying.
• We didn't have lessons Thursday because she was so sick, but we had fun shopping and walking in the sun.
• She is SOOO close to walking.  On Sunday, she was taking steps without us asking her to.  She just need to up her confidence.
• Today she tried hummus and really enjoyed it.  She got to dip carrot and cucumber sticks in it and she thought that made lunch pretty fun.
