A Sleepin' Good Time

Last night I fed Evelynd at 7:30.  She fell asleep at 8:30.  She woke me up to eat again at 3:30!  Eight hours between feedings!  When I put her down again, she didn't wake up until 8:30 -- another five hours!
Well-rested Dassow Mommy means a happy baby (actually she's almost always happy).

We went on a long walk through Bush Park with Nana and Papa Dassow today and got to see a lot of beautiful flowers.  Ev was awake for most of it -- she loves being outside.

The other thing I had to do today was piano Syllabus.  It was a crazy year with Syllabus.  I didn't get my schedule until last week and my students were all scheduled for Sunday, which most of them were not okay with.  So, after a lot of phone calls, most of them got rescheduled.  Which leads me to what happened on Friday.  I had two students who had their exams Friday at a house out in the country.  During Natalie's exam, her mother came in and asked Ryann to help with a situation.  One of the cats had given birth in the middle of the driveway and the mother cat had left it there.  Ryann got some paper towels and moved the smallest kitten I've even seen near its mother.  The mother did not seem interested.  Then, after looking around the garage, we found two more kittens.  One was moving around, crying, trying to find its mother.  I told the owner of the house about it and she said someone had dumped a bunch of feral cats on their property awhile back.  I don't know what happened to the kittens, but I got to witness the mother cat pass the placenta.  This was a first for me and a little distracting during the piano exams, but both girls passed.

P.S. Red Sox won and are only a half game back in the AL East.

  1. Yay for Evelynd (and you and Peter!). Glad that you don't have to use the manual swing anymore too. Anyway, Gamberetti's turned out to be good (pretty garlicky), it's worth trying. There's a coupon for half off the second entree at KATUdeals.
